Do something. Something is better than nothing.

SO here we go.

This will be a situation update for me.

Things are…….

Pretty exciting, pretty amazing. Yes, there is some gloom on the horizon. Yet, for me individually life feels pretty satisfying.

I’ve spoken so candidly in the past. Yet, now I know there are some eyes watching my words. It’s humbling and I am filled with gratitude for those who take time out of their day to read what I have to say.

I am not sure who to attribute this quote to, I want to say Kurt Vonnegut, but that requires a google search I don’t want to break focus from and do. So here it is. “A writer’s job is to steal a person’s time. You’ve done your job well if they don’t mind the time they give you.”

So again for those who stare at my thoughts, viele danke.

This is my second entry for the month of October 2020. In the year of mandatory quarantines, you think I would have finished the second or fourth novel by now.
Let me explain my way out of the lack of activity. I want to say it is fear. Which stands for false emotions activating a response. The false emotion which instigated the whole delinquency of writings would have to be the thought that I have nothing to say.

Or conversely the thought of no one would listen.

Something is better than nothing. And when your world can feel so routine, you stop thinking out loud. The great thing about life is each day no matter how monotonously ordinary can provide some inspiration for a reflection of the day. Plus how are you really contributing if you are passive through the journey of life?

When in doubt here are some facts that can inspire you (Me) to do something.

1) Somebody made a shake weight, and thought it was a good idea.

2) Sharknado has a sequel.

3) Justin Bieber’s mom posted on Youtube and the rest is history.

4) Shaggy’s hit single “It wasn’t me.” was originally rejected as a hit. Instead it was discovered on Napster by a Hawaiian DJ and now you know.

5) War sucks, Let’s Party.

6) When in doubt, let it out.

7) Donald Trump.

8) Joe Biden.

9) The movie trailer voice guy,(In a world where, you know the early ninety movie trailers) accidentally filled in for when the other talent guy who was lost in traffic.

10) You could be someone else’s bright spot in their day.

11) Show up to blow up.

The Berlin techno flows into my ears. Easier to listen to when focusing on explaining myself. I heard the fact of “when commuting/driving long distances, music is beneficial to keep a person alert. Podcasts are not recommended because the part of the brain that processes a person’s voice and the message being conveyed is very metabolically taxing on the brain.”

On the national and global scale this post will be a memento to a time before an election between two creepy corrupt pedophiles and the consequences therein.

Sprinkle in hostility between fellow citizens based upon political affiliation, occupation, or skin color. Things may be a little terrifying in days to come.

The rumor mill of the internet is in overdrive. So what is to come won’t surprise me. What I want the most is a peaceful outcome.

A plea to return to simpler times, is a trite idea. Because there has never been a simple time. We are living in one of the best times to be a human in terms of comfort levels. Go back twenty years ago, the war on terror was just cracking off. Go back forty years ago, hello aids. Go back even further hey Vietnam and cold war politics. Then another 20 years ago and you got to fight the Nazis.

What we are experiencing is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling events a person can do, and that is to be alive. Future generations will reflect fondly at the opportunity we all have at this moment. Remember great are those who plant the seeds to a tree that they will never relax in the shade of.

So with that said. Go out there. Be thankful. Take one small action towards a something you want to do. Cause thoughts become things, and a life is a collection of the stories you can tell.

Happy Halloween and day of the dead.

Stay up.
