We are nothing but grains of sand, waiting to be washed by the surf.

Hello and Good Bye 2020.

What a year you have been!

The good the bad the ugly let’s talk about you.

As a whole seemed like there was a lot of suffering through you, yet for me I had plenty of smiles to be shared.

Does that mean I was with out hardships?

No.

I felt the loneliness of quarantine, the hopelessness of empty shelves, the numbness of inhuman people.

What if like the government was using 2020 as a warning?

Like what if they were testing our behavior as society in a crisis?

I mean for fuck sake the first thing people panicked bought was toilet paper. Can I be mad at that? Not really. For when food is so easily available, your primary worry would be to wipe your ass.

Memorable things I saw this year.

The Gentleman: Guy Ritchie’s latest film. This was a movie I had no idea was even coming out, but I went there on a date. In the before times, when movie theaters were still in operation. It would be the second date. As the first one was meeting at a mall and learning to play “Hey Ya.” We sat and laughed till the store closed. When that happened we puffed on a high school hangout tobacco treat of hookah. Good to know things won’t change on that end. Loud music playing out of sync to rap music videos. To really capture the ambiance use fog machines and laser lights. It was a nice date, but it did end, and thus brought us to the second date of seeing “The Gentleman.” Interesting story which flashed the expensive rich lifestyle of British Hollywood dreamers. Would I watch it again? Yes, plenty of eye candy, and British tele seems smarter for some reason.

Fire Saga: Will Ferrell at a career high point. A tease into a different culture, an Icelandic Culture. It is eye candy all the way through, from Rachel McAdams to elaborate stage performances, all adorned with previous Eurovision Contest Winners. You can watch this a couple times, and get laughs out of it. For instance when the antagonist of the story admits there is absolutely zero zilch nada homosexuals in his mother country of Russia.

So that all took place in the early stages of twenty twenty. I had this reoccurring limiting belief of I am undateable. Which harpooned that potential relationship and yielded me spending valentines day in search of more.

That is one thing I can say about this wonderful year, is I have overcome that limiting belief and have found myself a wonderful lady, whom amazes me everyday. Life is beautiful like that.

I had Indian Food this year and I enjoyed it. Seems like a fun culture, which means I may stray from my steady diet of burritos and dreams.

Then Covid exploded into the forefront of everyone’s minds and concerns. The lock down began and Netflix exploded into popularity and with a gritty car crash of a documentary series binged by all.

The Tiger King: A special video about what you can do in America. Also how positioning yourself in life can come around and bite you in the ass, or help you launch a failed reality dance tv show attempt. Would I watch it again? Yes, but in five years. It would be more of period of reflection, rather than enjoyment of the video.

The streets of Imperial Beach on a long board. Would I see it again? Oh you bet. The only thing I would Improve upon is maybe a better board with a hand brake instead.

This year was also a lot of fun because the value of drive in’s exploded. So much so that they were having concerts there. Which isn’t a concert and more of drinking in a parking lot while looking at live music videos. Would I do that again? Depends on the artist.

The coastal hills of California can provide you with a wonderful hike, just make sure sunscreen and water are your friends. Also there is a huge log at crystal cove which I will pick up and lift over my head.

Halloween wasn’t a thing this year, unless you were a criminal. I certainly was one, partaking in a costume party without a mask. There was merriment, there was drinking, there even was a midget! That would be the second midget I saw this year. One from both genders and it’s one of those things which you go “Oh, there’s a midget here.” Then go about your day.

The wonderful thing about this year was it did end with the holidays. Thus was a nice comparison to the winter before. Yes, people still panicked bought, but that was cause there was a change of leadership and hate on the streets.

2021 is knocking at the door. Let’s make some predictions.

1) The handshake will make a comeback, but going places without a mask will not.

2) More people will adopt solar energy this year.

3) More Mosquitoes, and less bees.

And with that the German techno blasting in my ears, makes me wish of a happier time with travel.

So if you are reading this, thank you. Thank you for making this world a little more connected. For I took your time and I am grateful.

“No man is useless if he lightens the loads of those around him.” Charles Dickens.

Goodnight.

Hang Tough.
