A rising tide raises all ships.

The world has been shaken to it’s very foundations. In these times of turmoil, people are concerned about our future. Now that we’ve been exposed to the realities of the faults of our system, it is time to address our way out of it.

Yes, there will be no return to normalcy. However, that does not mean we will descend into chaos. More over than not we will rise to the occasion and create a better world for it.

A health educated populace is more productive than a divided one. Thus we must understand that every person has value, which can be fostered to maximum yields. Yet, we must help those who help themselves first. Examples must be made, and role models will be drafted.

As the world tunes into social distancing and quarantines the world economy will drag to a halt. Revealing the value of people, or conversely the need of more automation. The service industry is one of the largest industries in the United States with that disrupted the money supply will dry. When money is not transferring hands, it is nothing more than pieces of paper. Which is why the need for a universal basic income in these times is critical now, and as we progress even more so.

Yet, there is no such thing as a free lunch, this is because the law of conversation of mass. Matter can not be created nor destroyed during a chemical reaction. The free lunch requires assembly of the ingredients, the serving of the lunch, and the easiest part eating the lunch. The people who supplied the lunch, must be compensated for their efforts. Otherwise there will be no incentive to provide the lunch. Yes, there is compassion and the welfare of the common man to drive some people to do. However, how many people do you know, that actually go out of their way to be nice to people?

The food web. Is our answer.

What?

How?

You ask. In previous days we called it the food chain, with the apex predators on top. Now we’ve adjusted our thinking to call it a food web, because everything is interrelated. That apex predator, say the pride of lions, eats the wildebeest, the wildebeest eats the grass on the plains of the savanna. If one thing gets disrupted, such as an extensive drought the whole food web shifts to adjust, less wildebeest, less lions. Or say that poaching removes the lions from the savanna, the wildebeest overpopulate and consume to much of the grass and die of starvation.

But Adam, why are you telling me this?

I care not for the well fare of African animals, when my bank account is dry and I have bills to pay! Step outside of your own mind, and put yourself into survival upon the grasslands. Where would you want to be? Naturally, my answer is the ferocious lion. Because who wants to fuck with a lion?

However, I’ve come to realize that is not my place. I am not nearly educated enough or strong enough. Where do I fall then? Hate to say it, but I am probably the grass just busy growing then gets eaten. The wildebeest are companies, and the lions are the government.

Stay Safe, Stay Sane, Vote Andrew Yang 2020. Those wildebeests named Amazon, Walmart, Comcast have not contributed their share to the lions, while they’ve eaten all the grass the can. Which is why Yang proposed adding value added taxes on luxury goods, then distributing those funds to every american citizen. Not income based distribution, because that creates a welfare state of people who will not work to keep their government assistance coming in. EVERY AMERICAN CITIZEN gets it.

Evidently there are those who will jump up and down at the thought of “Free money.” and spend it frivolously, then ask for more.

Yes, that short term thinking will cause local revenues to rise temporarily, which is not the answer we must seek.

We must help those who help themselves. My addition to the UBI (universal basic income) proposal is make it eligible for people who complete an online financial literacy course, with bi-annual continual education requirements.

These our my thoughts. While 2600 miles away we have elected officials dead locked on helping the people they are supposed to serve, because “You never let a serious crisis go to waste.”- Rahm Emmanuel. Our public policy servants are using this to push their parties ideals forward. Meanwhile, our families, our friends, our neighbors, are suffering.

Thank you for your time.
