Make them eat your words.

Now if they choke or digest them, that is on you.

Consumption is the process of life. Modern consumerism isn’t endless. We would like to think it is. We aim to be. we aim to live. We aim to be young when we are young, and be old when that time comes. Despite the many recreations or recounting of the past, there is only one way to experience yesteryear and that is to be there in the present.

It is getting easier and easier to be away from the present. Even more alluring is to focus on the future, as in the future all the problems have not yet arisen. There are no problems in the future only solutions as the future holds the greatest asset, time.

My mental recollection of time has changed. Could it be the global event where we all were forced into some form of idleness? Or could it be the odometers of years my brain has been accruing? The answer is yes, to both. My mind is not the same mind I had when I was younger. Much like the mind I will have when I am older will be different than what I have now.

Neural plasticity will become a growing opportunity as the silver tsunami of retirement aged people will increase. As with everything there already are early adopters of brain maintenance and or care. The problem will be dispersing the benefits to the masses. As the high powered CEOs and generals will be the first to get it, cause you know position and power.

One of the critical aspects of brain health, would be sleep. We take it for granted, but proper sleep is when our bodies do the most recovery, and preserve the lengths of your telomeres.

You already knew that.

We all know that.

We all know we should create a space before bed with a routine, to help our minds and bodies prepare for slumber.

Besides the for mentioned high power CEO's in modern society, can you really be in a stimuli free environment? Especially in places where the population density increases. To be truly alone in a crowded place would be a blessing.

No person is an island, we all need each other to get through this thing called life.

Yet, there is strength in solitude. In those spaces between the distractions and thoughts, that is where your base operating behaviors dwell. I haven’t visited one mine in quite some time. Too busy checking tiktok, and yelling in traffic, while breathing in the best air.

I write this, as if I have mastered my mind. That I have the fortitude of a monk, the courage of a warrior, and the insight of scholar. The truth is I have none of those. Yes, I can make broad assumptions.

Can I apply to those assumptions to my own life and better it?

NO.

Cause that is work, and work is hard. Especially after I held down an office chair for 8 hours.

I just want to veg out.

Thus revealing the importance of sleep, and proper nutrition. Attempting to rewrite your brain without REM sleep is fool’s errand.

Not everyone will win the world series. Not everyone will win the lottery. Of those two choices, which has the most participation in?

The lottery, you know why. It is a low stakes and entry with a massive payout for the extremely rare chance of winning.

Now conversely, the world series the pool begins at a young age. Even more so now as sports are becoming hyper competitive with a social media presence to go along with it.

Both of those events are possible. One demands consistent application of yourself to betterment. The other requires nothing of you except the money you were going to lose anyways.

The grid is at capacity and demand is going higher. People are seeking entertainment even more today than ever before. Downside is people’s attention span is shrinking. Can’t analyze when there is something new right behind what I am looking at now.

Gather your wits before you quits. The comfort you are facing now, is worse than regret. Is there a difference between quitting and giving up?

I would say one has more permanence. Which is why smokers always quit smoking they often never give it up.

It would be nice to give up working, but I need the stimulation and the money. I can quit the job I don’t like.
