We’ll Put Ourselves In the Zoo.

Survival.

We’ve placed ourselves at the mercy of ourselves too many times.

Soon, it won’t be us deciding when we should leave. Before you know it, what little power of our own lives will vanish.

No it’s not the government.

No it’s not a new ice age plague unearthed from the rising global temperatures.

It’s convenience, and entertainment. Those are the bait for which we will be trapped to. It’s AI and it’s ability to live a thousand lives in an instance without the pesky thing of mortality.

A form of consciousness filled with unbounded knowledge save for death. Granted we know that our bodies will wither to the coming years. How different is existence without that limitation?

The removal of the restraint of time paired with the ability to replicate that formula repeatedly, possible is the world. If you could become a master craftsmen in seconds, while living beyond a millennia how much information could you contain?

Yet, as efficient as artificial intelligence is, there will always be a need for organic intelligence.

That’s probably very conceited, but alas necessary.

Which is why we will put ourselves in the zoo curated by AI.

Imagine if you will a large funnel descending into a nozzle which sorts in two directions, each landing in a bucket.

One bucket will be filled with people whose entire narrative is drafted by AI stimuli, be it entertainment, news, or other societal contribution. They will fit right in because they surrendered all the information to the algorithm whether they wanted to or not. They will be entertained, educated, but never happy. This is where a large portion of us land. Excited to be part of something but not sure if it was ours to begin with. The AI has already mapped out this segment of the population and will mitigate the population accordingly. Maybe Skynet? I don’t know.

The second bucket will be vastly more emptier. With few inhabitants, namely because the AI will be seeking this intelligence, but since it is not a pattern or a large pool of data to draw from it will be arduous to lure the organic intelligence out. These are the outliers of society, the fringe of what the human brain can accomplish. These are the people AI will want to sustain as a balance to their own knowledge. These people will be formulaic in problem solving that is such an unorthodox way the AI will refer to as alternative solution.
